The bird house is cast from stoneware. The stoneware is baked to 1250 degrees, which makes the bird houses winter-proof. At the back is a large hole where you can hang it, but you can also clean and remove the old nest. If the house needs to be even cleaner, put it in the dishwasher and the house is clean for the new residents.
