Did you know that the Long-eared Shee is a very social bird?
The long-tailed tit lives in a large flock, but when spring arrives, it exchanges it for a mate during the breeding season. Together they start building a nest. It's no wonder this usually takes more than three weeks! Long-tailed tits are true interior decorators, using up to 2,000 feathers, moss, hair, cobwebs and lichen as camouflage. Unfortunately, many beautiful nests are attacked by predators before the young hatch. And as social as the long-tailed tit is, they just help another couple raise their young.
Give this female and young a nice spot to show their friendly nature.
